You don’t need to believe the same things as us to come along and join in: we want to welcome you, and we believe that God loves you. We also believe:
- That there is one God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
- That the Bible is the primary way in which God reveals himself to us today.
- That each of us was made in the image of God, but that each of us has turned away from God’s design for our lives. As we’ve turned away from God, we’ve turned away from the source of light, life, and love, and we’ve turned towards darkness and destruction.
- That Jesus became fully human, and died on our behalf, to take onto himself the results of all our wrong actions and thoughts.
- That through faith in Christ we can turn around and come back to God, receiving forgiveness through his death and new life through his resurrection.
- That the Holy Spirit is at work in the world today, and helps us to live for God, changing us from the inside out to be the people that God wants us to be. This is a work in progress for us all: we need to live in Christ’s forgiveness every day.
- That our church communities are the best way to live out our faith: that we can build one another up in the power of the Spirit, encouraging each other in our lives for Christ.
- That all of us have a role in Christ’s church: each of us has different gifts and abilities, and we’re called to use them for the benefit of one another and the wider world.
