Light a Candle Community ‘All Souls’ Service
And as we head into November, there will be a chance to gather together to remember those we love who are no longer with us. It’s our Light a Candle service, held with our friends at Paskells, which includes the opportunity to have names read aloud and light a candle in memory of a loved one. It’s on Saturday 1 November at 11am at Mistley Church, and everyone is welcome.

Remembrance Sunday
On Sunday 9 November we will be holding and joining in with several different services across our parishes.
- Lawford:
- Traditional Holy Communion at 9.15am.
- Act of Remembrance at 10.30am at Lawford War Memorial – this will be a brief time of prayers and the laying of wreaths.
- Remembrance Service at 10.50am, with a mix of music styles but a mainly formal tone.
- Bradfield:
- Quiet Holy Communion at 9.30am. This will be a simple service of Holy Communion.
- Traditional-style Remembrance Service at 10.45am.
- Mistley:
- Community Remembrance Service at Mistley War Memorial, starting at 10.55am. This service will be entirely held outside, so please wrap up warm!
- (There will not be a service in the church in the morning).
- Traditional-style Remembrance Choral Evensong at 6pm at Mistley Church.
- Manningtree:
- Community Service of Remembrance at Manningtree War Memorial.The parade will meet at Manningtree Market at 2.45pm, and the service will start at 3.00pm.
Wreath Workshop
Our extremely talented flower team will be leading a wreath workshop on Saturday 22 November at Lawford Church.
They will also be taking orders for wreaths for your home, and to lay on graves. Wreaths cost £12 each. If you’d like to know more please use our contact page to get in touch.
Beetle Drive
Come and join an afternoon of old-fashioned fun and simple paper games, together on Sunday 23 November, from 2.30pm at Bradfield Church. It’s suitable for all ages and everyone’s welcome.
