Cross Reach Churches is a group of three parishes, each with a church building where we meet.

Mistley Church

St. Mary & St. Michael’s, Mistley with Manningtree (CO11 1ER) is between Manningtree and Mistley High Street.

Mistley Church is normally open during the week whenever possible, and has facilities including a disabled toilet. The main access through the South Porch is wheel-chair accessible. There is a small car park next to the church, and plenty of road parking outside.

Mistley also has the Church Hall (or The Institute) near Mistley Towers. It’s available for hire, either for regular groups, or for one-off events. To find out more, please see our Wider Community page.

The current church was built around 1870, in a Victorian Gothic style, and was dedicated to St. Mary. In the 1960s Manningtree’s Parish Church, St. Michael’s, which was on Manningtree High Street, was closed and eventually demolished. The parishes joined together, and Mistley Church was re-dedicated to St. Mary & St. Michael.

St. Mary’s, Lawford (CO11 2JX) is on the edge of Lawford village, at the end of Church Hill.

Lawford Church is normally open during the week whenever possible, and has facilities including a disabled toilet. Level access is available through the new extension.

The original church was built in the thirteenth century but has been changed and modernised since, most notably with the removal of the pews, and the addition of a large lobby and hall complex.

Lawford Church
Bradfield Church

St. Lawrence, Bradfield (CO11 2US) is at the north end of Bradfield village.

Bradfield Church is normally open during the week whenever possible, and has facilities including a disabled toilet. Level access is available through the main doors, in the new extension.

There is normally space to park on the road, but please be considerate of our neighbours, as spaces can be limited. For special events, we are sometimes able to arrange more parking close by.

The original church was built in the thirteenth century, but was significantly added to in the 1840s, and has since had the addition of a small hall complex.
