We have lots of regular groups meeting in our churches and in the community and you’re welcome to join in! If you’d be interested in coming to any of these groups, please contact the Church Office for more information.
- Prayer & Study:
- Morning Prayers – meets weekly in Mistley Church, Thursday at 8.30am. Short informal time for Bible reading and prayer.
- Monthly Prayer Group – Meets monthly in Lawford, Wednesday at 10.30am.
- Home Groups and courses – various short courses for lent or advent, plus a number of Home Groups.
- Music:
- Choirs – There are choirs in each church which work together, generally at one of the traditional services each week. They also collaborate for festivals and other events. New members are welcome!
- Lawford Handbells Team – Support worship at special services, as well as taking part in competitions and rallies and playing for organisations, such as Suffolk Sight.
- Bell Ringing Team – a dedicated team of bell ringers from across the area who ring the Mistley bells before Sunday services, for weddings and for special events.
- Children & Families:
- Edward Bear– a well-supported parent and toddler group, meeting weekly on Mondays at 9.30am during term time and on other special occasions, at Lawford.
- Messy Church – meeting in Mistley Church Hall normally about 4 times a year, usually on a Wednesday morning.
- Messy Play mornings in Mistley Church Hall for preschoolers, normally meeting monthly, on Wednesday at 9.15am.
- Support & Friendship:
- St Lawrence Guild – meets in Bradfield for talks, refreshment and chat together, monthly on Tuesday at 2.15pm.
- Men’s Breakfast – meets in Bradfield for breakfast and a talk, monthly on Saturday at 8.15am.
- Ladies in Fellowship together (LIFT) – meets in Lawford for talks, meals, activities, etc, monthly, usually Monday at 7.30pm
- Singing for Pleasure – meets in Mistley Church Hall, for fellowship, refreshment and singing. Open to all, this is particularly suited for those with memory loss or dementia, and is run in partnership with the Manningtree Town Council and Manningtree & District Dementia Support. Monthly on Friday at 10.30am.
- Support in Loss group – meets in Lawford for support and encouragement. Monthly on Tuesday at 10.30am.
- Bradfield Tea Party – meets in Bradfield for friendship, tea and cakes. Monthly on Tuesday at 3pm.
- Shared Interests:
- Art Club – meets in Lawford to support and encourage one another. Every other week, Thursday at 1.30pm.
- Crafty Talents Craft Club – meets in Lawford. Sharing and learning together on your own projects. Twice a month on Monday at 2pm.
